The peer-reviewed scientific journal of the American Society of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists (ASIH) is Copeia, named after prominent American naturalist Edward Drinker Cope (1840–1897). Copeia is published quarterly, and contains original research related to all aspects of fishes, amphibians and reptiles. The first issue of Copeia was published on December 27, 1913, by John Treadwell Nichols.
Pamphlets & Position Papers
Members of the ASIH have produced several pamphlets and position papers in support of its members and pursuant to its general goals of knowledge and conservation. Notably, these include guidelines for the use of fishes, amphibians and reptiles in field and laboratory research, and position papers on specific issues of conservation interest.
The ASIH occasionally sponsors the publication of larger works of scientific interest. These Special Publications are available for purchase through Allen Press.
