Colin Patterson, 1933-1998

It is with a tremendous sense of personal and professional loss that we must accept the news of Colin’s sudden death on March 9, 1998. Our dedication of the "Interrelationships of Fishes" to him in 1996 was made in an expression of the respect and gratitude of an entire community for his monumental contribution to our field. Today, our celebration of all that Colin has given us is tempered by a profound sadness at his passing. Our only consolation is the knowledge that the legacy of his rich and productive life will forever remain an inspiration.
