Torino (Italy), July 9, 1998
Dear Sirs,
we are pleased to announce the birth of a new HerpSite, REPTILIA &
AMPHIBIA .
REPTILIA & AMPHIBIA is now the most complete Italian website about
Reptiles, Amphibians, Terraristic and Herpetology.
We have put in this website months of researches, attempts, comparisons,
and after a long work of collecting, organizing, writing, scanning, OCR,
setting the pages, making links, etc., we are proud to offer a valid and
flexible tool to all amateur and professional herpetologists. Most of
the material contained will be useful for educational purposes, too.
Due to a lack of articles and material found on the web (and not only
there) in italian language, we decided to make this site bilingual
(italian/english), to make it handy for a wider number of users. As you
will see, graphics are accurate but essential (thus allowing a higher
speed, even for those with "slow" connections), and we choosed a
"frames" structure (the frame version will be online only since July 10,
1998) to allow surfing inside and outside the site always keeping a
quick reference to the index. You will find here an extraordinary amount
of material, splitted in sections/pages.
We are hereby inviting You to visit us and find a link to Your website
in our section "Associations/Associazioni": we actually found Your pages
really worth a visit for all herpetologists and herpetoculturists, and
we added in the above mentioned section a brief description/summary of
Your site's content.
We will appreciate very much Your placing a link to our site in Your
pages, as well as signing and leaving a comment in our Guestbook when
You will visit us. We will also welcome any suggestion and submission of
other related websites to add to our list.
An official "Virtual Vernissage" with an online chat session will take
place in September 1998, when the last few pages still under
construction (Photo Gallery and Veterinarians list) will be put online,
and we will have the pleasure of contacting You again for the official
invitation.
Thanking You in advance for Your kind attention, we take this occasion
for sending You our best regards.
Sincerely and Herpetologically,
Marco Girosi, Webmaster
