NSF-CGP (Center for Global Partnership) Science Fellowship Program

Introduction: Launched in 1992, this program enables American senior-level and postdoctoral
scientists and engineers to visit Japan. CGP (Center for Global Partnership) is a non-profit
organization established in 1991 by the Japan Foundation which is part of the Ministry of Foreign

is implemented by NSF using funds provided by CGP.

Unique Feature: The unique feature to this program is that it enables American researchers to
conduct research within the Japanese industrial sector. Under this program American scientists

corporate labs, 3-12 month visits to universities, and 3-6 month visits to government laboratories.
The number of American researchers awarded this fellowship from 1992 through 1996 was 70.
